How to do teeth whitening from home?

8

Kind of embarassing, I used to have almost perfect white teeth and I’ve been so self conscious lately because well, let’s just say the shade is abit off. Does anyone know of a good at home teeth whitening product online that works? I’m scared to death of doing it at the dentist!

Crest White-strips work fine, but can be a little expensive. If you want the ultimate cheap way of whitening your teeth, swish some Hydrogen Peroxide for 60 seconds twice a day.

hey I know how you feel! I have to share this though… I bought this teeth whitening kits about 2 weeks ago from one of those “free trial” type sites. I know what you’re thinking, most ppl think those kind of sites are a scam or spam. Well, its called Idol White. Kind of cheesy, but I ordered the free trial. Long story short, the stuff IS actually working. My teeth aren’t ALL the way white, but there is a subtle difference happening. NO side effects or anything weird going on and at least I didn’t have to pay 20-30 $ for those drugstore kits, so it’s been worth it so far.
I hope I was able to provide a good solution for you. Seriously, try it out.

The whitening offers I have seen online are scams, including the one mentioned in these answers. I call them scams because they provide the same strength (or lower) whitening as the over-the-counter products while claiming to be substantially better and sometimes claiming to be as good as the products in dental offices. On top of this, you have to read the fine print because these are subscription services. You are signed up to buy whitening every month. So for about twice the cost of the same product at the store, you can have these products. I should record a conversation with one of these reps for the internet so people can see the truth beneath the almost truth.

Baking soda is an inexpensive at-home remedy. Be careful, though, baking soda lightens the teeth by scratching the enamel. It will only reach the outermost stain. If it is used, it should only be done occasionally or you will have permanently darker teeth without the hard outer layer.

Strawberries give a temporary lighter appearance, but this is a reaction and does not last long, but is immediately noticeable.

Household peroxide will not work since it is a very, very low concentration. This kind of peroxide is crazy lower than even over-the-counter whitening agents. Additionally, peroxide can hinder healing so caution should be used. Trust me, all of you that believes this works. Do some research and you will see the peroxide is a very small amount. Further, excessive rinsing can be very damaging to tissues in the mouth.

There is a chart comparing different whitening techniques here. No sales, just information. http://ncmpact.com/Whitening.aspx

Hi, My name is Kathy and I work for Crest. I am obviously biased, but I would recommend using Crest Whitestrips. We have a variety of versions which depend the level of whitening and how quick you would like them to work. I would recommend checking out each version on to see if any strike your fancy. Below is a link to our website. Once there, you can click on learn more for each version, and then select the product review tab to see what other people have to say about them. http://www.3dwhite.com/crest-products/whitening-systems/

Also, there will coupons distributed in P&GbrandSAVER on June 6th, which will be going out in most newspapers. You can visit http://www.pgeverydaysolutions.com – to find out which newspapers in your area may carry the P&GbrandSAVER insert.

    Hope this helps!

You can make pastes out of lemons, strawberries, or another slightly acidic fruit. A quick brush with these can help to eat away at discoloration.

Don’t drink coffee, tea, or smoke. All of these things can discolor your teeth.

Try whitening products, and brush your teeth often. I’ve been using Platinum whites for a while, and it works pretty well. No word on how long it lasts, but so far so good.

Check out the website listed, it has a lot more info.
